About us
Linghams has occupied a busy corner of Heswell for over 20 years. We are a centre for culture—we have a coffee bar, a live pianist on Saturdays, and we act as ticket agents for local amateur dramatics, concerts and professional theatre. We have big leather armchairs dotted around the shop so our customers can browse, and we run a monthly book club and poetry group, as well as a weekly children’s storytime session. This summer we have lots of great events coming up, including a signing with crime writer Tess Gerritsen, a faith day, and a live cooking demonstration with Grace Adegoke, who will be signing copies of her new recipe book.
