New J.K. Rowling cover released

The plot of Rowling’s new book The Casual Vacancy, out 27 September, follows Barry Fairbrother (changed from Fairweather), who dies unexpectedly in his early forties and leaves the little town of Pagford in shock.

The ballot paper reference on the cover is likely to refer to the election to fill the empty seat left on the parish council following the death of Fairbrother. Little, Brown has also announced that Pride and Prejudice actor Tom Hollander will read the audio version. 

With less than three months to go, fans won't have long to wait for the 450 million-selling author's first foray into adult literature.
