Fifteen-year-old Laurence Roach finds his already unstable life turned on its head when his alcoholic mother goes missing.

Unable to ask for help without going into care, Laurence decides to take matters into his own hands. Whilst looking after his five-year-old brother who thinks he’s a dog, Laurence ends up dressing up as his mother and trying to win over a beautiful girl at the same time as discovering the mystery of his missing mum, and all whilst convincing his neighbours and teachers that everything is normal.

15 Days Without a Head is Dave Cousins’ first novel. It’s a heartfelt comedy drama about growing up and it’s guaranteed to leave a smile on your face.
