"I can still taste his blood, Lucy. I can smell it everywhere. It's in the grass, the air, on me. I'm not safe."

Solange Drake is a Vampire Princess, but during the blood moon ceremonies, her feral instincts and habits come out and turn her into a dangerous person. Due to this she ends up attacking her boyfriend. Solanges' best friend, Lucy, is attending a Helios-Ra school: and the Helios Ra slay vampires! But, at night, Lucy sneaks out to visit her vampire boyfriend, Nicholas, her best mate, Solange, and the rest of her vampire friends.

Cue mysterious, forbidden magic, an emotional rollercoaster and an unknown evil! Nicholas is kidnapped, but with Solange acting strangely, who can help? Together, Lucy and Solanges' family strive to work out what is going on - will they ever recover Lucy's boyfriend?

I really enjoyed this book! I have never Alyxandra Harvey book before, and I was totally blown away. This is the fifth book in the awesome Drake Chronicles, and after reading this one I think I will have to go and buy all of the others now!

The author is so talented, when you begin reading you are instantly swept into the world of Violet Hill, home to the vampire-slaying school and vampire inhabitants. Personally, I think beats Twilight in terms of the storyline - this book contains such an awesome heroine, and total constant suspense!
