Following Fish is a richly detailed travelogue written with a wry sense of humour and a real eye for the people, culture and cuisine of the coastal states of India.

But here the similarity to any other travel book ends as the author embarks on a quest to investigate the culinary speciality: fish. Samanth Subramanian brings alive the very essence of each location he visits, from the noise and bustle of the local fish market in West Bengal to the unmistakable aroma and taste of highly spiced curries washed down with a little help from the toddy (local alcohol) shop.  A wealth of other foodie gems awaits the reader who decides to partake of this veritable feast of experiences.
