In 2011 Charles Ferguson won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for his acclaimed film Inside Job.
But the film was only able to show roughly two per cent of the material that Ferguson gathered. His new book, of the same title, presents the rest of that material. Inside Job is a thorough and in-depth look at the financial crisis that shook the world during 2007-2010, based on first-hand interviews conducted personally by the author and investigation into primary documents often buried in archives. Ferguson looks at the causes of the financial collapse with clarity and directness, picking over the bones of the problem, and coming up with some startling conclusions before addressing our hopes for recovery. It is doubtful that there is a better book out there dealing with this topic; Ferguson presents complex information in a clear and readable style.
